This site goes into all aspects of the Memphis and Shelby County digital radio communications system. This radio system is a Motorola Type II, APCO 25 compliant radio system. It uses both digital and analog modulation for voice. The system is used for all of the City of Memphis and Shelby County public safety agencies.
The system is also home to all of the city and county gov’t sectors.
There is a live scanner here at ScanMemphis for your listening enjoyment. You will hear the Memphis Police and Shelby County Sheriff dispatch talkgroups.
During severe weather events, the live scanner will follow the local SKYWARN weather frequencies, and the EMA.
